Sandra B. Showell's Obituary
Sandra Ball Showell of Easton Maryland passed away peacefully on Friday November 8th, 2024, at the Talbot Hospice House in Easton Maryland. She was 76 years old.
Sandra was born on August 6, 1948, to the late, Greely Irvin Ball and Betty Roe Ball. Sandra lived her childhood in Neavitt, Maryland and graduated Salutatorian from St. Michaels High School in 1966. Following graduation, Sandra worked in a bank in Easton. It was at that bank where she met Frank Xavier Showell. Frank and Sandra were married on Oct 9th, 1971. Frank preceded Sandra in death on March 14th, 1996.
Sandra was a beloved entrepreneur who had a passion not just for business but for volunteering in her hometown of St. Michaels. Sandra was proud Eastern Shore native whose family lineage on the Eastern Shore dates back to the 1600s. Sandra owned Sentimental Journey Antiques in St. Michaels and Preston, Maryland for over 20 years. She was St. Michaels business association president, PTA president and was one of the originators of Christmas in St. Micheals. In her later years, she was manager of the jewelry store Pizazzzz in St. Micheals. Sandra also worked part time as a ballroom dancing instructor for her daughter's business, Dancing on the Shore.
Sandra was the devoted mother of her two children, Frank Showell and Amanda Showell, who brought immense joy to her life. She was a proud grandmother and dedicated follower of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Sandra loved the Lord and journeyed through life guided by her faith.
She is survived by her son Frank Showell and his life partner, Stephanie King of Bozman, MD, her daughter Amanda Showell and her life partner, Kevin Cahall of Greensboro, MD. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Trey Showell, Caroline Showell and Mackenzie Cahall.
Her memory lives on in the hearts of her surviving children and grandchildren, who will forever cherish the moments spent in her embrace and the life lessons she imparted. Sandra's presence will be missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her
A viewing will be held on, Wednesday, November 13th, 2024. Visiting hours are from 6pm-8pm at Framptom Funeral Home, 312 S Talbot St, St Michaels, MD 21663
Funeral services will be held on,Thursday, November 14th, 2024. Service will be held at St. Luke's Methodist Church at 11am.
