Sarah Elizabeth Roberts' Obituary
Sarah E. Roberts (Granny) was born on December 24, 1930 in Laurel, Delaware to the late Ned and Mary Fooks Horsey. She entered eternal peace on February 5, 2026 at home in Seaford, Delaware.
She worked at the tomato factory, hatchery, she house cleaned, was a mid-wife, and compassionately cared for others. She was also a faithful member of St. Matthew's First Baptist Church of Laurel, Delaware. One of her favorite scriptures was Psalm 27:1 , The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear?
In addition to Sarah's parents she is preceded in death by her late husband, William H. Roberts, her children Bruce Roberts, Reva Roberts, Herman Roberts, Lillie Roberts, Betty Treherne and Clara Horsey, her brothers William Horsey, (Mickey) Lee Horsey and Clifford Horsey, her sisters, Agnes Epps, Annie Horsey and Jeanette Horsey.
Sarah leaves to cherish her memories her three daughters Helena Richards (Earl) of Seaford, DE, Dolly Pitts (Jessie) of Seaford, DE, and Mary West of Laurel, DE. She always referred to her children as her "biddies". She is also survived by a devoted sister-in-law, Dorothy Horsey, grandchildren Ethel Horsey, Betty Luke (John), Ritchie Camper (Mia), Yolanda Davis (Richard), Tyronda King, Joyce Lingham, Veronica Presseley, Tysheila Cannon, Renee Godwin (Shawn), Terris Cannon (Tywana), Aaron Kellam (Takara), Alonzo Roberts, Sharon Cannon (Jerome), Antonio West (Nakeita), Tywand West (Kayotta), Lisa James, Tykee Pitts, Jermain Pitts, Avion Williams and a host of great grands and great great grands, nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends.
