Sarah Jane Cluff's Obituary
Sarah Jane Cluff of Ft. Washington, MD passed away on Monday, June 21, 2010 at her home. She was 58.
She was born Feb. 2, 1952 in Federalsburg, MD the daughter of the late Bessie Cornelia Adams Cluff and Stanford Stewart Cluff.
She became a member of the former John Wesley United Methodist Church near Federalsburg, MD. She was a graduate of Colonel Richardson High School Class of 1970 and earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree from the University of the District of Columbia in 1982. Her nursing career spanned from working in hospitals, nursing homes, private duty and doctors’ offices, Gallaudet College Student Health Services were she had to learn sign language. She was self-employed for 10 years doing life insurance physicals for ten different companies. Her last employment was with Maryland Health Care in Fort Washington, MD where she worked for 15 years. Her family, friends, patients and animals were her life.
She is survived by three sisters, Sallie Mae and Bessie Cornelia of Fort Washington, MD, and Gladys M. Cluff-Cunningham and her husband William of Oakdale, CA; three brothers, William Edward and his companion Janet Young of Philadelphia, PA, Warner George and his wife Victoria of Trappe, MD and Stanford Leon and his wife Carol of Middletown, DE and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and former co-workers. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Lee, James Stanford, and Charles Henry.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home, 216 N. Main St., Federalsburg, MD 21632. Friends may call on Sat. June 26, 2010 at the Kalas Funeral Home, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at the Framptom Funeral Home from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Federal Hill Cemetery in Federalsburg.
