Scott Cameron Ray
Royal Oak, MD. Scott Cameron Ray, 51 passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015 of respiratory arrest, surrounded by his loving family. Scott was born on April 14, 1963, Easter Sunday, to the late Alex Ray and Lee Nicholson. Formerly of Warwick, R.I. Scott moved to Neavitt when he was 15. Scott was considered the “Ambassador of Royal Oak†by his community and could often be found lending a helping hand to his neighbors. He worked at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum for a number of years, considering the museum his second home and the people he worked with family. Scott adored his family, and they him. He had a deep appreciation for Mother Nature and considered a walk on the shoreline his church. Scott spent his time fishing, playing cornhole, watching Nascar, taking beautiful photographs, and hunting for arrowheads. He was always looking for new ways to use old things and often called himself “The Fred Stanford of Royal Oakâ€. What Scott is probably best known for is his kind and generous manner. Scott is survived by his wife of 25yrs Beth, and children Troy, Zachary and Emily; mother Lee ; stepmother Anne; stepfather Mitch; siblings Kim, Bruce , David, Becky, Eric and Heather, stepsiblings, Laurie and Mike; grandchildren Stella and Harvey; numerous nieces and nephew, especially Stephanie, Meagan, Sammy, and Mollie; and grandniece Piper. He was preceded in death by his father Alex. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday April 4th at the Royal Oak United Methodist Church. Please come join us at 1pm for a casual gathering in remembrance of Scott. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the St. Michaels Community Center, the Royal Oak United Methodist Church. A Memorial Fund for Donations may also be made to the family at any Talbot Bank or on the gofundme.com/pfluve. Arrangements are by the Ostrowski Funeral Home, St. Michaels.
