Sharon Lee Smedley's Obituary
Sharon Lee Smedley of Seaford, DE passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at her home. She was 70.
She was born on December 5, 1943 in Easton, Maryland, the daughter of the late John Wooters, Jr. and Betty Usilton Wooters.
She was educated in Caroline County Schools and graduated in 1961 from Preston High School. She held various positions in her working career; her favorite role was raising her children. She was working at The Big G until her illness. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Dale Burgess, Jr. (D.R.) and Wayne Smedley, Jr. (Charlie) both of Seaford, three step daughters, Donna Rice Smedley of Denton, MD, Roxzan “Skitter” Smedley Glover of Seaford, DE, and Tina Smedley Reed of Federalsburg, MD; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one sister, Bonita Jett and her husband Leonard of Salisbury, MD, and two brothers, John “Jack” Wooters and his wife, Maggie of Easton, MD, and Lennard Wooters and his wife Marcie of Cambridge, MD, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Troy Burgess.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 1:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Reverend Howard “Buddy” Dunn officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00. Interment will follow in Junior Order Cemetery in Preston
