Sharon Lee Taylor's Obituary
Sharon Lee Taylor, a lifelong resident of Preston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the age of 74.
Born on April 11, 1950, in Easton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Marie J. Hilprecht and Adolph R. Seaman. Sharon graduated from Colonel Richardson High School in 1968 and soon after began her career in credit and collections at Preston Trucking Company, where she devoted over 30 years until its closure. She later continued her professional career at Choptank Transport, now Hub Group Inc., where she worked for 24 years.
Sharon shared 41 years of marriage with Charles Robert “Bob” Taylor until his passing in 2018. Together, they raised a son, Matthew Taylor of Preston. She considered his wife, Kristin, as her own daughter and often said that no one could have been a better wife for Matt. The greatest joy of Sharon’s life was being a grandmother to her two granddaughters, Allyson and Aubrey, who filled her heart with endless love and pride.
She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Bill Taylor and his wife, Thelma of Dover, DE, niece Donna Mehta (husband Sunil) of Lanham, MD, nephew Darryl Taylor (wife Monica) of Easton, MD, late nephew Drew Taylor (wife Luann) of Camden, DE, and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
As per Sharon’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. Condolences may be sent to Matthew and his family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sharon’s memory can be made to Compass Regional Hospice, 160 Coursevall Dr, Centreville, MD 21617.
Sharon was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Her kindness and love touched the lives of all who knew her, and she will forever be missed.
