Shirley Ann Travers of Greenwood, DE died on Thursday January 29, 2026. She was 66 Years old.
Born in Dover, DE on March 27, 1959 she was the daughter of Thomas Meredith of Greenwood, DE; and the late Dolly Wilhelm Meredith. Shirley was a person who wore many hats in life , she did Tax preparation, was a stay at home mother who cared for her children, her father and husband. She loved to help out with the family business. Mostly she loved the Lord and was an active member of Heritage Bible Baptist Church in Greenwood.
She was an avid pool player and even attended and participated in the APA world class competition with her husband John in 2012 in Las Vegas. She was a devoted Stamp collector with her father and also attended many conventions.In addition to her Father she is survived by her beloved husband; John Travers of Greenwood, a son: Richard Furroughs of Federalsburg, MD; 3 Step-sons John, Matthew, and Patrick. 13 Grandchildren and 4 Great-grandchildren. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by a son; Christopher Furroughs.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 12:00 Noon at the Heritage Bible Baptist Church 6510 Hickman Road, Greenwood DE; 19950 where a viewing will be held at the church on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday one hour before the service.
