Stanley G. Tull's Obituary
Stanley G Tull of Federalsburg passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Mallard Bay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cambridge, Maryland. He was 86.
He was born on December 15, 1936 in Reliance, Delaware the son of the late Gilbert Tull and Mabel G. Wheatley Tull.
He graduated from Seaford High School with the class of 1955 where he played football, and got a football scholarship he never used, because of working the family farm in Reliance. The following Summer he married Kathleen Wright Tull on June 16, 1956. They celebrated 51 years of marriage together. She preceded him in death on April 24, 2008.
He served with the Army National Guard Reserves from 1954-1962.
He started a life-long career as a truck driver working for his father in law, Norman T. Wright. Later he worked for Lloyd Fooks and The Eastern Corporation driving a concrete truck. He finished his career with Glacier Foods that later became Burris Logistics in Federalsburg.
He served the Jaycees as past president and was instrumental to bring the Soap Box Derby to Federalsburg. He also coached for Tri-City Little League for many years. In his free time, he loved to attend gospel concerts at Holiday Park in Greensboro with his Grandson, spending time in his yard, his flower garden, and with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by two children: Kirk S. Tull, Sr. and Gail L. Willoughby and her husband Bruce all of Federalsburg; four grandsons: Robert Willoughby and his wife Becky of Federalsburg, Michael Willoughby of Seaford, Andrew Pink and his husband Bryan of Millsboro and Kirk "Chip" Tull, Jr. and his wife Samantha of Laurel; three great grandchildren: Thomas Wenger, Mason Tull and Lily Willoughby and a sister Peggy Clayville of Seaford. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by siblings: Hilda Wilkerson, Mary Pusey, Harry Tull, Erma Massey, Ruth Hill. Delores Tull, and Clarence Tull.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Reverend Joe LeCates officiating. Burial will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00.
There will be a reception following at the Federalsburg Fire Hall, with food and refreshments.
