Stella George's Obituary
Stella Harrington George, 79, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, Sept. 18, 2009 at her daughter’s home in Preston.
She was born April 10, 1930 in Bethlehem, MD, daughter of the late William Guy Harrington and Marilla Andrews Harrington Sheerin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Hollingsworth George, Jr. and a sister Betty Harrington Ellingsworth.
She worked as a beautician for Charm’s Beauty Shop in the early 60’s. In 1966 she started the first produce stand on Route 50 until the early 90’s. She received her CNA and assisted with elderly care through a variety of agencies. She was working for Sunshine Senior and Family Services in Denton until June 2009. Most of her spare time was spent with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, farming and going to auctions.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she is survived by a son, Julius Guy George (J. Guy) of Easton, a daughter Stella Lee Coulbourne of Preston and her son-in-law Walter Thomas Coulbourne, three grandchildren, Robert Hollingsworth Satterfield, graduate of Towson University and resides in Towson, MD, David Lee Satterfield, student at Towson University, Towson, MD, and Mary Caroline Sundh George (Molly), student at Hobart and William Smith College, Geneva, NY.
A private graveside service will be held at the Spring Hill Cemetery in Easton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Donation Account for Talbot County Health Department, 100 Hanson St., Easton, MD 21601 who is responsible for many needed services in the community such as Senior Care, services for children and adults with disabilities and prevention and addiction programs.
