Teddy Ray Sherman's Obituary
Teddy Ray Sherman passed away unexpectedly at his home in Rhodesdale, MD on Saturday, March 15, 2025. He was 59 years old.
Born February 24, 1966 in Cambridge, MD, Teddy was the son of the late Lester Ray Sherman and Connie Ball Sherman. He was educated in local schools and graduated from North Dorchester High School in 1986. In 1989 Teddy married the love of his life the former Shelley Porter. Together they had two children.
At a young age Teddy started working on the Collins Family farm, but it was working on the water that was his passion. Teddy was already looking forward to and making preparations for the upcoming crab season. In his free time Teddy enjoyed hunting and fishing, cheering on the Ravens and the Orioles, and following NASCAR. He was a member of the Dorchester Seafood Heritage Association. Teddy will also be remembered for the love he showed his cats and dogs.
Teddy is survived by his wife Shelley; his son Justin and Justin's girlfriend Brittany; his mother Connie Sherman; his sister Terry Conner and her husband Don; as well as nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Teddy was preceded in death by his daughter Courtney who passed in 2016; and his father Lester.
A visitation will take place at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 6pm until 8pm. The family will again receive guests at the funeral home on Friday, March 21, 2025 from 12pm until 1pm with a funeral service starting at 1pm. Burial will follow at Unity Washington Cemetery in Hurlock.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made directly to Framptom Funeral Home to help defray expenses.
