Thelma L Payne's Obituary
Thelma L. Payne, 97, formerly of Eldorado, died at Caroline Home For Hospice in Denton, MD on Friday, March 2, 2006.
She was born in Bridgeville, DE on March 23, 1909 the daughter of the late Richard D. Webster and Cora E. Holt Webster. Her husband, Edward T. Payne died on November 3, 1993. She worked as a civil service employee for the government from 1930 to 1943 and then became a farmer’s wife working on the family dairy farm. She was a member of Eldorado United Methodist Church and was a former member of its WSCS. She was also a member of the ladies auxillary of Eldorado-Brookview Fire Company and the Eldorado Homemakers Club. She is survived by two daughters, Margaret “Peggy” (Glenn) Collins of Seaford, DE and Patricia “Patsy” (Bill) Collins of Rhodesdale and a son, Sterling E. Payne, Sr. (Lisa) of Rhodesdale and 7 grandchildren, Debbie (Bill) Outten, Nick (Chris) Calloway, Lisa (Troy) Glessner, Karen (David) Eppehimer, Sterling Payne, Jr., Audra Payne and Heath Payne, great-grandchildren, Jennifer Hoffman, Bill Alton, III, Mindy, Nicholas and Jacob Calloway, Katelyn and Justin Glessner, Sydney and Jorja Eppehimer and Krista Payne, two step great-grandchildren, Bryan and Jenna Nabb and six great-great-grandchildren, Joylyn Calloway, Terra, Ashley and Gracie Hoffman and Kyle and Brooke Alton. A grandson, Rick Calloway and two sisters, Pauline E. Love and Lucy O’Toole preceded her in death Graveside funeral services for her will be held at Eldorado Cemetery on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Douglas E. Morley and Rev. Delmer Willey officiating. The family has requested that donations be made in her memory to either; Caroline Home for Hospice, 613 South Fifth Avenue Denton, MD 21629 or to Eldorado-Brookview Volunteer Fire Company, 5752 Eldorado Road Rhodesdale, MD 21659.
