Thelma R. "Sue" Schmick's Obituary
Thelma R. “Sue” Schmick died at Easton Memorial Hospital on Thursday, May 5, 2011. She was 78.
She was born in Towson, MD, in Baltimore County, on February 15, 1933 the daughter of the late James Benjamin Dilworth and Annie Estella Robertson Dilworth. She was a graduate of Towson High School and later married her husband of 58 years Glenn Edward Schmick on April 11, 1953. During her lifetime she and her husband cared for many foster children. She was an excellent cook who loved her garden and her flowers. She repeatedly demonstrated her love for others by putting them before herself. In addition to her husband Glenn she is survived by a son, James B. Schmick (Lori) of Preston, and three daughters, Glenda Louise Andrew (Brad T.) of Trappe, MD, Kathy L. Jester (Wayne D.) of Preston, MD and Melissa Faye Wade (Allen) of Easton, MD, 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a sister, Glenna Mach of Bel Aire, MD. Funeral services for her will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Framptom Funeral Home, P. A. in Federalsburg, MD with Pastor Thomas E. Becker officiating. Interment will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and also on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00. Serving as pallbearers will be; Allan Hungerford, James V. Schmick, Ricky Cohee, Jason Schmidt, Brad Andrew and Roger Layton. The family has requested that donations be made in her memory to the Bonnie Hilghman Cancer Fund, Mid-Shore Community Foundation, 102 East Dover Street Easton, MD 21601.
