Thomas O. "Sonny" Jackson, Sr.'s Obituary
Thomas Orville Jackson Sr., better known as “Sonny”, departed this life on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Saint Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. He was 73 years old.
He was born on April 24, 1942, to the late Milton Earl Jackson and Margie Marie Beulah Jackson.
As a full time farmer, he also worked at Deluany’s Foods, HP Cannon and Solo Cup Company. After 33 years of service, he retired from Solo Cup Company in 2008 as a Maintenance Supervisor.
Sonny was a devoted husband, father, and brother. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at different events.
He was a dedicated and hard worker at any task that he took upon himself. He would teach anyone that was willing to learn the tricks of his many trades. Being a well know man, when he went into a store, there was always someone he knew and would talk to. He liked going and watching his favorite baseball team, the Baltimore Orioles.
He leaves his wife Frances Marie Wright Jackson of 52 years, two children, Thomas O. Jackson Jr. of Laurel, Delaware and Jilda C. Jackson of Wallingford, Pennsylvania, a sister, Margaret Jackson Stanley of Easton, Maryland, Mother-in-Law Mary E. McCray of Seaford, Delaware and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Beside his parents, he was also preceded in death by four sisters, Mildred Jackson, Ida Mae Hammond, Gladys Jackson, Shirley Dixon, and a brother James Jackson.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg. Interment will follow at Federal Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday evening, April 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
