Thomas George Shepke's Obituary
Thomas George Shepke of Federalsburg passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at TidalHealth at Nanticoke Hospital in Seaford, Delaware. He was 73.
He was born on Christmas Day, 1952 in Baltimore, Maryland; the son of the late Talbert Walter Shepke and Genevieve Veronica Kuc Shepke.
After high school, he enlisted with the United States Airforce and served in for 20 years until his retirement. He later earned his Associates Degree and started a second career with the Maryland Department of Transportation Police where he worked at the Scale House at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. He retired again in 2016 after 20 years of faithful service. He remained a member of the Fraternal Order of Police as a Chaplain.
In addition to his service to our country and our community, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family, eating out to meet his friends and attending military reunions each year. He never met a stranger.
He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Shepke of Federalsburg; one grandson: Alex Campos of Federalsburg; two brothers: Talbert Shepke and his wife Nancy of Westminster, MD and Tim Shepke and his wife Lynn of Millsboro, Delaware; and four sisters: Phyllis Schmitt and her husband Ray of North Carolina, Barbara Barnes and her husband Rod of Hebron, Maryland, Bonnie Shepke-Valenti and her husband Joe of Indianapollis, Indiana, and Rose Marie Ferri and her husband Nick of Milford, Delaware.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Ted Shepke and a sister Mary Ann Shepke.
A memorial chapel service and entombment will take place at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 1:00. Those traveling from the Eastern Shore can arrive by 11:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home, 216 N Main Street, Federalsburg to ride in the funeral procession escorted by his former work colleagues at the Maryland Transportation Authority..
