Ulysses Mills' Obituary
Ulysses W. Mills of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Monday, April 16. 2012 at his home after a long battle with failing health. He was 78.
He was born Feb. 15, 1934 in Seaford, DE, the son of the late Ulysses H. and Effie Johnson Mills.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Mills retired from E. I. DuPont in Seaford as a sheet metal worker after 31 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 243 in Hurlock, and was also a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church at Finchville.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cora Josephine Cohee Mills whom he married on Sept. 24, 1955, two daughters Marcia Mills Milligan of Federalsburg and Sandra L. Mills of Seaford, a son Timothy W. Mills of Federalsburg; 5 grandchildren Thomas Lee Trice, II, Jason A. Brittingham, Christopher E. Milligan, Katlin N. Mills, and Timothy M. Mills; 4 great-grandchildren Jason L. Brittingham, Karmyn M. Brittingham, Taylor Brooke Trice, and Brandon M. Trice; 4 sisters-in-law Pauline Mills of Seaford, Martha Mills of Federalsburg, Lucille Slacum of Seaford, and Joyce McWilliams of East New Market, MD and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 2 sisters Della Weiss and Elizabeth Sammons, 2 brothers Houston J. Mills and Ralph T. Mills, and an infant granddaughter Karin L. Trice.
Funeral services will be held at the Framptom Funeral Home on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Glen Lyburn and Rev. Ruth Tull officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at Eldorado Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
