Valerie Ann Wagner Fisher's Obituary
Valerie Ann Wagner Fisher of Hurlock passed away at Delaware Hospice House in Milford, DE on Thursday, December 22, 2011. She was 70 years old.
She was born on October 28, 1941 in Preston, MD the daughter of the late John B. and Elsie Virginia Andrews Wagner.
She was a graduate of Preston High School where she played field hockey, basketball, volleyball and softball. She worked for the Sewing Factory and Maryland Plastics in Federalsburg Md. In addition she worked for the DuPont Nylon Plant in Seaford DE prior to raising her children. She later worked for Black and Decker in Easton, MD for 15 years prior to retiring.
Valerie better known as “Ann” was an artist who enjoyed oil painting, wood burning, and painting bird houses with her brother Johnny. She also loved singing, playing guitar and the accordion as well as fishing and spending time outdoors. She was a gardener and especially enjoyed hummingbirds. She enjoyed playing games with her family and friends as well as computer and video games and passed that love on to her family. She was a loving and kind person who gave unselfishly to family and friends. Her “feisty” spirit and will to live was an inspiration to everyone she encountered.
Ann enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren the most. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Lynn Flack of Hurlock, MD and Virginia Ruth Ann Fisher of Magnolia DE, and a son, Holland Lee Fisher of Milford, DE., a granddaughter she raised Ashley Ann Fisher, grandchildren, Storm Ren Sullivan of Hurlock, MD, Richard John Garrett II and Danielle Tate Garrett both of Cambridge, MD, Holland Lee Fisher Jr. and Jerry Lee Fisher of Milford, DE. She is also survived by a brother, John Wagner and his wife June of Preston, two sisters, Leona Moore and her husband Robert of Michigan, Helen Mills and her husband David of Hurlock MD, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Wagner and Charles Wagner.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Framptom Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg, MD with the Rev. Howard “Buddy” Dunn officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday.
