Vernon William Cox's Obituary
Vernon William Cox passed away on Tuesday October 17, 2023 after a 7 year battle with cancer. He was 69.
He was born on May 27, 1954 in Baltimore, MD. He was the son of the late Milton Frederick Cox and Betty
Lou (Nicholas) Cox.
He was a carpenter starting at the age of 16 to his retirement.
Vernon built many houses. He was a master in Carpentry. He loved being on the water and at one time had a commercial workboat for crabbing. He enjoyed going out just for a ride to clear his mind. He loved to camp and recently finished a one week camping trip in early September 2023. More than camping and boating he loved riding his Harley with his best buddy Bob Stone. They traveled all over and had many fun adventures. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Loretta Jean Cox (Lori) and his children: Vernon Cox and his wife Casey of Hurlock, Eric Cox of Baltimore, Heather Cox of Stevensville, Dayna Garbarino and her husband Joe of Denton and Charles Cox of Federalsburg. He is survived by his granchildren, B'jorn, Marcus, Amber, Branden, Ryan, Alliyah, Aireal, Logan, Christian, Carter, Amelia and great grandson Jaxson. He was also survived by his sisters, Mary and Linda. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephews, Shawn Rice and Brian Jones.
A celebration of life will be held in May 2024. Invitations will be mailed.
