Vincent Joseph Svehla's Obituary
Former Baltimore resident Vincent “Bud” Svehla, 91, died August 9, 2013, at home in Preston, MD.
Mr. Svehla was born December 21, 1921 in Baltimore Maryland, to Joseph and Mary Reece Svehla.
He was a Staff Sergeant in the Rainbow Division and fought in World War II. Bud worked at Exxon Corporation for 23 years. He enjoyed fishing, playing the harmonica, and the organ. He loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian an infant child, his brothers George and Jim Svehla and his sister Dorothy Redmond. He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Tom and Nancy Svehla, son and daughter in law, Eugene and Belinda Svehla, grandchildren, Robin Svehla, Raymond Svehla, Renee Svehla, Ryan Svehla, Todd Svehla, and Mark Svehla and 8 great-grandchildren A memorial service will be held Tuesday August 13th at 12:00 noon at Framptom Funeral Home 216 N. Main Street in Federalsburg Maryland with Rev. Sidna Hopkins officiating, followed by a private family gathering.
