Virgie Mae Bramble's Obituary
Virgie Mae Wheatley Bramble of Dallas, PA and formerly of Parksley, VA. passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dallas, PA. She was 94.
She was born on May 18, 1920 in East New Market, Dorchester County, Maryland; the daughter of the late Herman Wheatley and Myrtle Veneables Wheatley.
She was married to Charles Benjamin Bramble for 71 years; he died November 30, 2010. An infant son and Charles Ernest Bramble, also preceded her in death, Virgie was a homemaker and enjoyed helping those in need; especially in her church. She loved cooking, sewing, reading and spending time with her family. She loved the retirement home that she and Charles built on Parker’s Creek, on the Eastern Shore of VA. Enjoying fresh vegetables from the garden and seafood from the Bay, watching the deer and all the variety of birds in the area, especially hummingbirds, who would visit the flowers outside her glass door, plus seeing the local boater’s heading to Metopkin Bay, were highlights of her life on the Delmarva.
She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Anne Luke of Dallas, PA, two granddaughters, Valerie Luke-Kelley and her husband Roger of Wilkes-Barre, PA, and Debbie Freeland and her husband David of Middleburg, PA; two great grandchildren, Brandon Kelley and Amber Kelley of Dallas, PA., who are a Sophomore and Freshman at Misericordia University in Dallas, PA. as well as, two brothers, Ollie Wheatley of Cambridge, MD, and Russell Wheatley of Federalsburg, MD, and two sisters, Gertrude Cattau of Philadelphia, PA. and Isabelle Mooney of Secretary, MD.
Funeral services will be held of Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 2:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home, 216 North Main Street, Federalsburg MD. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00. Interment will follow at Cokesbury Cemetery near Federalsburg.
