Vivian S. Batson's Obituary
Vivian S. Batson of Federalsburg died at Easton Memorial Hospital on Saturday, December 15, 2007.
She was born on March 9, 1934 at Finchville in Dorchester County the daughter of the late Alphonso Hill and Geneva Cephas.
She attended Frederick Douglas Sinclair High School in Cambridge. She worked for the Caroline County Board of Education at Federalsburg Elementary School where she worked in the cafeteria for 32 years.
She was a member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church at Finchville where she was a former secretary of the United Methodist Women, was a member of the health and welfare committee, was a member of the Board of Trustees, vice-president of the choir, was membership committee chairperson, was a member of the Pastor Parish Relations Committee and was presently serving as secretary of the Finance Committee. She was also attended the Senior Center in Hurlock.
She is survived by a daughter and son, Terri L. Batson and Gregory K. Batson, both of Federalsburg, two grandchildren, Minuiiah Neal of Owings Mills, MD and LaTasha Neal of Hurlock, MD, a sister, Lorraine Bolden of Federalsburg, a brother, William Batson of Finchville, a sister-in-law Gertina Batson of Finchville, Marilyn Neal of Hurlock, who she considered her daughter, several nieces and nephews and a special friend Catherine Lewis of Finchville. A faithful companion, Medford Cromwell preceded her in death.
Funeral services for her will be held on Friday, December 21, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at Framptom Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg with Rev. Peggy Briggs officiating. Interment will follow in Federal Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.and also on Friday from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m.
