Wanda Shockley Ballas' Obituary
Wanda Shockley Ballas departed peacefully on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at her home in Federalsburg, Maryland. She was 60 years old.
Born on January 16, 1964, in Seaford, Delaware, Wanda was the cherished daughter of the late Stanley Shockley and Katherine Reynolds Shockley.
She graduated from North Dorchester High School in 1982 before furthering her education at Chesapeake College and earning her Associate's Degree in 1984.
In a bond of love and commitment, she united in matrimony with her beloved husband, Steve Ballas, on June 5, 1993. Together, they established their home in Federalsburg. Wanda worked in customer service most of her career for Sea Watch International in Easton, a testament to her dedication and work ethic.
Although Wanda's passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew her. She found joy in dancing, treasured trips to the beach, embraced the warmth of the sun while tanning, and most of all relished the moments spent with her family and loved ones.
May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and light she brought to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Steve Ballas of Federalsburg, two brothers Joseph Hoffman and his wife Kieu Nhi Le of San Francisco, CA, and Robert Hoffman and his wife Linda of Federalsburg; nieces and nephews: Jason Hoffman and his wife Katie and their son Jackson, Jen Williamson and her husband Toby and their children Harvey and Sophie of Federalsburg cousin: Debbie Reynolds and her husband Roy, and Two Uncles Bradley Reynolds and his wife Charlotte, Lanny Payne and his wife Sharon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Darlene Shockley and a cousin Randy Reynolds.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 1:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Kim Mills officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00.
