Wayne Sewell Toms' Obituary
Wayne Sewell Toms passed unexpectedly on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at his home in Preston, Maryland. He was 81 years old.
Wayne was born in Talbot County on January 16, 1944. He was the son of the late John Stanley Toms and the late Hildred (Sewell) Toms. Wayne attended Saint Michaels High School, and he later went on to be a small business owner. For well over thirty years he owned and operated Toms Janitorial Service.
In his free time Wayne enjoyed cheering on the Orioles, and he was an avid book collector. Wayne was a dog lover and will be missed by his canine companion "Lizzie".
Wayne is survived by his daughters Leigh Baray and Laurie Meekins (Clint); his step-daughter Penny Fontana (Ed); his brother Norval Toms (Roberta); his sister Joan Bozman; his sister-in-law Rae Toms; his four granddaughters; his three great-granddaughters; his one great-grandson; his nephews; and his special friend Lisa Carson.
Preceding Wayne in death along with his parents were his brothers Stanley Toms, Guy Toms and Gary "Tick" Toms.
All services will be private and burial will take place in the family lot in Olivet Cemetery, Saint Michaels, Maryland.
