Wayne W. Murphy's Obituary
Wayne Winfield Murphy of Denton passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. He was 64.
He was born on August 1, 1947 in Federalsburg the son of Gladys Wells Murphy of Denton and the late Melvin Herbert Murphy.
He graduated in 1967 from Colonel Richardson High School and served for two years in the United States Army serving in Vietnam and receiving a Purple Heart. He then went to work for Caroline County Public Works before retiring after 42 years of service in 2009.
He was a member of Park Lane Church of God since 1978 where he served in many positions. He loved hunting, gardening and being outside with his dogs and purple martins.
In addition to his mother, Gladys Murphy, he is survived by his wife of 39 years Darleen Roop Murphy, daughters, Kelli Bare and her husband Jason of Chesapeake, VA and Kara Murphy of Denton, grandchildren, Madison Bare and Micah Bare, a brother, Herbert G. Murphy and his wife Anne, two nephews, Matthew Murphy and Patrick Murphy all of Federalsburg, and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin William Murphy and his wife Eleanor G. Murphy.
Funeral services and interment will be private.
Wayne’s wishes were that in honor of his memory donations be made to the Caroline County Humane Society 407 West Bell Street, Ridgely, MD 21660.
