William L. "Billy" Andrew's Obituary
William L. “Billy” Andrew of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Monday,
June 17, 2013 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. He was 74.
He was born Nov. 2, 1938 in Easton, MD, the son of the late Raymond T. and Elizabeth Hastings Andrew.
Billy was a graduate of Federalsburg High School Class of 1957. He was a Commercial Printing Supervisor for Chesapeake Publishing Company, retiring after 45 years of service. He was a Life Member of the Federalsburg Volunteer Fire Co. where he served as past Chief, Chief Engineer, and Vice President. He was awarded Firemen of the Year in 1976. He was a member of Idlewild Ruritan Club where he served on the Board of Directors, as past President, and was Ruritan of the Year in 2008. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing and growing roses.
Also, he was a member of the V.F.W. Men’s Auxiliary. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lois Medford Andrew, whom he married on April 3, 1957, a son Mark Andrew and his wife Susan, a daughter Marsha Tull and her husband Kirk, all of Federalsburg, two grandsons Andrew “Drew” Pink (Bryan) of Millsboro, DE and Kirk “Chip” Tull, Jr. (Samantha) of Seaford, two great-grandsons Thomas Wenger, Jr. and Mason Tull, of Seaford, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Phyllis and Donald Walters of Federalsburg, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Garganni and a brother, G. Thomas Andrew.
Funeral services will be held on Sat. June 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
