William Palmer Bennett's Obituary
William Palmer Bennett of Federalsburg died at Compassionate Care in Richmond, KY on Friday, October 5, 2012. He was 89.
He was born on March 1, 1923 in Salisbury, MD the son of the late Raymond Bennett and Lelia Shockley Bennett. His wife, Betty Lenora Carroll preceded him in death. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Signal Corp. He worked as a carpenter and millwright all of his life. He attended Union United Methodist Church in Federalsburg. He was a Charter Life Member and former commander of Federalsburg VFW Post 5246, was a member of the Federalsburg Volunteer Fire Company and was a member of Carpenters and Millwrights Union Local 1906. He is survived by a son, William R. Bennett and his wife Deb, a granddaughter, Beth Augustine and her husband Michael, Steven Carroll Bennett and his wife Linda; their granddaughter, Lisa Bennett, nephews, Carl Bennett, Greg Bennett and Michael Bennett and two nieces, Patti Bennett and Tana Bennett. Funeral services for him will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Framptom Funeral Home, P. A. in Federalsburg with Rev. Dan Gedman officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 to 12:00. Interment with military honors will be held at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock, MD.
