William G. ("Billy") Johnson, Jr.'s Obituary
William G. Johnson, Jr. Bozman, William G. “Billy” Johnson, Jr. of Bozman, died at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center, Easton, on Tuesday, December 17, 2013. He was 72. Born in Neavitt, on September 1, 1941, he was the son of the late William G Johnson, Sr and Rose Haddaway Johnson. Billy attended public school in St. Michaels and then began a lifelong career as a waterman and carpenter, two occupations that he truly enjoyed. Following his retirement, he worked part-time at Target in Easton, until his health forced him to retire permanently. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He and his wife, Marie, have traveled many places to watch their granddaughter and grandsons play in sporting events. Billy also loved to camp with his family at Tom’s Cove, VA, Lancaster, PA, and Assateague Island, MD. He was a past member of the St. Michaels Fire Dept., where he served as an E.M.T., Ambulance Captain and an engineer. In addition to his wife the former Marie Vaughn, whom he married on January 1, 1960, Billy is survived by four daughters; Vicki Morris and her companion Matt Frankton of St. Michaels, Sherry Hurley (Mike) of Delmar, DE, Leigh Ruth (Troy) Stevensville, MD and Lynn Lopez (Moises) of Easton. He has two sisters; Pauline Loudermilk of Columbia, TN and Brenda Pearl Johnson of Boiling Springs, N.C., He also has nine grandchildren; Beth Sadler, Ray Morris, Joshua Hurley, Zackary Hurley, Tucker Ruth, Kevin Martin, Ryan Martin, Christopher Lopez and Nicolas Lopez. Three Great-grandchildren; Jacob Sadler, Emma Grace Sadler and Joshua Hurley. He also has an additional son-in-law, Doug Morris and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by two sisters; Molly Sheffer and Edna Rose Andrews and a son-in-law, Gary "Tick" Toms. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 2pm with visitation two hours prior, beginning at 12pm at the First Wesleyan Church on Goldsboro St. in Easton. Pastor Mark James will be officiating. Serving as Pallbearer’s will be Timmy Poore, Mark Miller, Phil Hambleton, Jr., John Hambleton, Todd Hambleton and Danny Haddaway. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the St. Michaels Vol. Fire Dept. 1001 S. Talbot St. St. Michaels or to the Shore Oncology Infusion Center, 8221 Teal Drive, Easton, MD. 21601.
