William Arthur (Bill) Gargani passed away on Wednesday, July 26. 2023, in Los Angeles, California. He was 66. Bill was born on November 28, 1956, at Easton Memorial Hospital, the son of the late Arthur A.Gargani and the late Mary (Andrew) Gargani.
Bill is survived by his sister, Joyce (Gargani) Baron of Lutherville, Maryland, and his brother, James A. Gargani of Federalsburg, Maryland. In addition to his siblings, he is survived by his nieces, Jennifer Baron of Parkton, Maryland; Kristina (Baron) Patino of Miramar, Florida; and Kelli (Gargani) Schanken of Hurlock, Maryland, and nephews Scott Baron, of Morrisville, North Carolina, Todd Baron of Mullica Hill, New Jersey, and Brad Gargani of the state of Texas. After graduating from Colonel Richardson High School in 1974, Bill attended and graduated from what is now Towson University in 1978 with a degree in Mass Communications. He worked a year near Washington, D.C. for a company that created film documentaries, and then he moved to California where he worked in the film business, first with several companies that transferred movies and TV shows from film to the VHS format and then for movie companies such as Disney, where he was a colorist who would adjust and correct film color so that the shots from scene-to-scene would flow throughout the movie.
Bill was known for having a good, loving heart for his family, friends and community. As an adult he always talked about how he particularly loved his grandmother, Elizabeth (Hastings) Andrew, and the sock monkey she made for him when he was a young child. He was an advocate for animal rights and once had a cat named Sherry, who lived to be 20-years-old, that he cared for very much. Plus he loved his Sheltie dog. Bill also enjoyed listening to music and watching the Baltimore Ravens.
A graveside Celebration of Life service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery, Federalsburg, Maryland, on Monday, August 21 at 11:00 AM.
