William Roosevelt Jackson's Obituary
Let me introduce myself, my name is William Roosevelt Jackson. Most people know me as Billy or my nickname "Stovie". I was born on March 8, 1952 in Dorchester County, Maryland. I am the son of the late Clarence E. Jackson Sr. and Emily Jane Dennis Jackson. I was raised in the small town of Vienna, Maryland. During my youth I made a very important life decision and that was to ACCEPTED CHRIST as my Lord & Savior. My childhood was very exciting and adventurous. I loved to play outdoors and to ride my bike. But, the highlight of it all was a friendly game of basketball with my friends. When I wasn't enjoying the great outdoors I was indoors playing with my model cars, and electric trains. I also enjoyed reading comics. One of my favorite was "Mad Magazine". I looked forward to Saturday mornings, getting up and watching my favorite cartoons such as "Johnny Quest" and "Looney Tunes". One of my most favorite characters was the "Road Runner". As I got older I started getting into music. One of my favorite artist was the "Jackson 5". The way they sang and the beat of their music, made me want to dance. Dinner time was also our family time. Mom was a great cook! We always enjoyed wholesome meals, and delicious desserts. Snack time, was my time to devour a box of "Good & Plenty" candy. During my time in school my parents always expressed that getting a good education was important! I received mine through the Dorchester County Public School System. In 1969, I was transferred from Mace's Lane School located in Cambridge, Maryland to North Dorchester High School in Hurlock, Maryland. I graduated from NDHS in 1970. Shortly after graduation, I continued my education at Delaware Technical Community College, located in Georgetown, Delaware. My major was Mechanical Engineering, in which I enjoyed! I did so well in all my academics, that I was asked to be an instructor. Imagine that, me a student instructing other students! As time went on I entered into the workforce, and obtained various jobs. I drove dump trucks, heavy equipment operator and farm equipment. I was very proficient in all my endeavors. Anyone that knows me will tell you that I am very outspoken, but I do have a heart for people. I loved to make you laugh until you almost cry. On my downtime, I loved watching the movie "Bebe's Kids", and the cartoon "Spongebob Square Pants". I got a kick out of watching Pearl (the whale). I've made a lot of good choices in my life but I realize that the best one of all was rededicating my life to "Christ".
