William Richard Mears' Obituary
William Richard Mears, fondly known as Bill, was 77 as he went to be with Jesus on Saturday, November 18, 2017.
A native of Pittsburgh, PA, he resided in Salisbury, MD since 1972, then part time in Zephyrhills, FL since 2001. A member of Christ United Methodist Church from 1993-2014, he was also a member of Centennial Masonic Lodge # 221, F. & A.M., Salisbury, MD, and former member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge # 2731, Zephyrhills, FL. Bill enjoyed golfing, woodworking, and going to the movies; he loved a good action film. Bill was a retired Master Chief, Machinist Mate and Vietnam War Veteran with the US Navy.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Agnes E. Stuver and his niece, Sharon Maizel.
Bill is survived by his wife, Catherine Eleanor Mears; daughters, Pamela Kent and her husband Jay, Nora Judd and her husband David, Jessica Weidley and her husband Tyler, Candice Lambrose and her husband Michael, and Jennifer Carmine and her husband Jay; sister, Ida Mae Shelpman, her daughter, Suzanne and her son, Donald; 14 grandchildren: Sean Kent and his wife Jamie, Katie Kent, Justin Davis, Jensen Davis, Laurel Davis, Ryan Bozman, Carson Bozman and his wife Angela, Jakob Bozman, Leslie Oliver and her husband Jon, Kelsey Lambrose, Ashley Miller, Tiffany Adams and her husband David, Joshua Machado, Rachel Machado, and 9 great-grandchildren: Kloe Kent, Zachary Bozman, Claire Bozman, Addison Oliver, Bayne Oliver, Ellaina Adams, Lucina Adams, Nova Machado and Cyress Machado.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday April 21, 2018 at Christ United Methodist Church, 211 Phillip Morris Drive, Salisbury, MD at 11AM. Friends may call on the family from 10-11am prior to the service.
