Rev. William Daniel Patchett, Sr.
Brookview- Rev. William Daniel Patchett, Sr. (Nuke) of Brookview, MD passed away at his home on November 9, 2017. He was 91. He was born on October 24, 1926, the son of the late Robert Duke Patchett and Martha Gertrude Seymour Patchett.
Rev. Patchett attended schools in Talbot, Caroline, and Queen Annes Counties before joining the Army at the latter end of World War II. He was proud to have served under General George Patton. During his time in the Army, Nuke was a military policeman taking several courses including military law at Hiedleburg University in Germany. He was also a Judo instructor. While still in Germany Nuke was responsible for transporting Nazi war crime prisoners to the Nuremburg trials. for many years Nuke did marine construction for Weems Brothers. Much of the solid construction of jetties and riprap bulkheads in Ocean City and Bay Area as well as other Eastern and Westerns Shore areas have the hand of Nuke to them. Nuke beame an ordained minister in the 1960's. While Pastor of the Evangelical Bible Curch for 37 years, Nuke spearheaded several ministries- radio ministry, prison outreach, nursing home service, on going ministry to the elderly, homebound and sick. Nuke, wife and family worked with church members to send many thousands of bibles and religious materials to many people including prisoners throughout the United States, Russia, Romania, Mexico, Africa, and South America. Nuke had radio ministry on several local stations as well the Caribbean Beacon. Nuke and his son, Phillip, had a 10 day missionary trip to the Caribbean Islands.
Nuke was predeceased by his sweetheart and wife of 50 years, Mary Louise Murphy. Nuke is survived by four children, Phillip Patchett, William "Bill" Patchett, Jr. (Rosanne), Gloria Bradley, Sharon North (Dennis); 7 grandchildren, Wm. Daniel Patchett, III, Michael Patchett (Mary), Jeremy Patchett, Debbie Patchett Tyler, Lori harris (J.W.), Brian Jones (Crystal), Katy North; siblings, Clyde "Doc" Patchett (Anna Mae), Nellie Cohee, Virginia Hampton. He was predeceased by brothers, Roland, Robert James "RJ", Herbert, Howard and Melvin; granddaughter, Kimberly Jones; great-granddaughter, Laura Abigail Jones.
Nuke had a very strong faith in God and continued to share it to the very end. He was most passionate about spreading the Word of God and has asked his survivors to continue the work.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Reverend Joel Bieler officiating. . Interment will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 5-7p.m.
