It was with great saddness that I learned about Billys passing almost immediately after returning to the shore from a 17 year absence due to my mil/gov't career in Virginia. I was looking forward to reconnecting with loved ones that were so much a part of my life growing up. Cousin Billy and I spent many good and crazy times together...from our families camping together on remote areas on Assateague Island, to crabbing from flat bottom boats in southern Dorchester County, to spending to holidays together, and playing all the sports we loved. It is with a heavy heart that I could not attend Bill's final celebration of life. You will be missed dear Cousin..

Connie, Megan, Bonnie and Noah......Billy was a very special guy for sure. Always greeted everyone with a smile and a hug! I have great memories hanging out with him while in high school and later in life golfing with him, Semi and Nancy. We always had a laughing good time! Many thoughts and prayers are with you both. Mr. Bill was one of the kindest and funniest men I know. It has been an honor and pleasure to have known him. He always made you feel welcome in their home. I enjoyed catching up with him and Connie when I would come home to visit family. I consider the Ruf family one of the closet friends. We are so sad to hear of Billy's passing. We were so excited and looking forward to being his neighbor. He always stopped to talk and only had kind words and smiles.
