Tommy Ball Sr.
Neavitt, William T. (Tommy) Ball, Sr., 69, of Neavitt, Maryland, passed away on Oct. 7, 2016. He was 69.
Born July 15, 1947 in Neavitt to James and Olive Brumell Ball. Tommy graduated from St. Michael's High School and volunteered to serve in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a sharp shooter, photographer, and pastor. He returned home and married Florence Ball and joined the ministry full time with the Methodist church Conference, serving the Delmarva Peninsula, which was something he continued in various capacities until his passing. He also worked with many printing and press operations, but largely Delmarva Farmer for over 20 years from which he retired recently.
He enjoyed helping lead the choir in organ and voice, taking wildlife photography, short wave radio, bird watching, and enjoying his birds and his dog “Tyeâ€.
Tommy volunteered in many ways from helping the St. Michael's Fire Department, Interfaith Outreach and Samaritan Ministries.
He was a proud father of William Thomas Ball, Jr. and Rebecca Jo Ball, and grandfather to Jeremiah Holliday, Phelicia Ball, Ismael Hernandez-Ball and Alexa Zartman-Ball. Previous to his passing, in addition to his parents, was his brother Edward (Eddie) Ball who died in December 2003
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 12th from 6-8PM at the Ostrowski Funeral Home P.A. 312 S. Talbot, St. Michael's, MD.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 13th at Bozman United Methodist Church, Bozman, MD; 11:00AM.
Burial will be held in the Neavitt Cemetery.
