William Lester Williamson's Obituary
William Lester “Bill” Williamson of Federalsburg, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 at University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, MD. He was 85.
He was born Aug. 26, 1928 in Hobbs, Caroline County, MD, the son of the late
William Elbert Williamson and Lily Mae Williamson Williamson.
He was a graduate of Federalsburg High School Class of 1947. Bill retired in 1985 from E.I. DuPont after 37 years of service. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where he faithfully served in many capacities throughout the years. He was a member of Wayne Coulbourne Prayer Group and a member of the United Methodist Men for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bettie M. Lane Williamson, whom he married on Aug. 11, 1950, three daughters, Bonnie Zajac and her husband Walter, of Denton, Beverly O’Ferrall and her husband Daniel, of Linkwood, and Trena Moran and her husband, Allan, of Seaford, DE; 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, a sister Sharon LeCompte of Federalsburg, a niece and a nephew. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Wendy Knotts in 1973.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 3:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home with Rev. James Michael officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
