William D. Gleaton's Obituary
William David Gleaton, “Bill”, of Federalsburg, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 10, 2007. He was 68.
He was born on September 2, 1938 in Columbia, SC, son of the late Grier Craig Gleaton, Sr. and Wilma Davis Gleaton.
He served his country in the United States Navy and continued his service in the National Guards and in the Air Force Reserves. He owned the Printing Place in Federalsburg from 1976-1989. He worked at Memorial Hospital in Easton in the printing department until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of Nanticoke
Lodge #172, A.F. & A.M., and a past patron of the Nanticoke Chapter #64 Order of the Eastern Star.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Croswell Gleaton, “Judy”, four children, Catherine Gleaton of Baltimore, Michelle Gannon of Easton, Kelly Lord of Federalsburg, Jack Trader of Salisbury, two grandchildren, Mitchell Lord of Federalsburg and Shelby Trader of Salisbury. He was preceded in death by a brother, Grier Craig Gleaton, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at Framptom Funeral Home on Friday, February 16, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Heistand and Rev. Joel Beiler officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg with military honors. A Masonic Memorial service and Order of Eastern Star service will begin on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with visitation to follow until 9 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Gabrielsen, Scott Phillips, Xavier Camacho, Bill Lord, Lorenzo Beach, and Wayne Cole, and serving as an honorary pallbearer is Bill’s grandson, Mitchell Lord.
