William H. Richards' Obituary
William H. Richards of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2010 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, MD. He was 79.
He was born April 24, 1931 near Harmony, Caroline Co., MD, the son of the late Harry L. and Amanda E. Darling Richards.
Mr. Richards retired from E.I. Dupont in Seaford, after 35 years of service as an electrician. He owned modified stock cars for many years and raced at Delmar and Georgetown Raceways.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris Summers Richards, whom he married on Dec. 24, 1949, four sons, William H. Richards, Jr. (Mandy) of Clayton, NC, Scott D. Richards (Cindy) of Laurel, DE, Jon R. Richards of Brookview, MD, and Martin E. Richards (Amy) of Denton, MD, 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, a sister
Betty VanSchaik and her husband Arthur of Harmony, MD. and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two daughters Vicki White and Amanda Richards.
Graveside memorial services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Bloomery Cemetery, Smithville, MD with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating.
