Barbara Granger Marine's Obituary
Barbara Banning Granger Marine was quickly and peacefully transported into the arms of her heavenly Father on June 8, 2025.
Born in 1936, Barbara attended Federalsburg schools and won the Miss Strawberry Festival at age 12. When she was 18, she was elected Miss Federalsburg. Everyone loved Barbara because she brought light and life wherever she went.
Upon graduation from high school, Barbara attended Pierce College in Philadelphia. Over the years, she worked for Maryland National Bank and Pensel & Walker in Easton, Maryland. She was also an excellent seamstress and chef, and created hundreds of artistic gifts over time.
In 1968, Barbara married George Oliver (Pat) Granger, Jr. and they were together until his passing in 1988. Barbara then devoted herself to work and ministry.
In 1992, she married C. Melvin Marine, and they were married for almost 25 years.
To fulfill her lifelong mission, she then spent many years travelling the world and visiting prisons, churches, and small groups with Melvin as they spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her loving family, including her sister, Janet Banning Hubbard Brown, and sisters-in law Sue Banning (Gerald) and Deana Banning (Edward), as well as her children Marcel Banning Leverage Mellein, Stewart Granger, Traci Granger, and Shane Granger; Melvin's children Melinda Messick and Marvin Marine; her grandchildren, Hunter Granger, Patrick Granger (Erin), Cortney Moore, and Tailor Breeding (William), J.C. Mellein, Cade Mellein; and great-granddaughter Khloe Moore, as well as many other family members and friends.
She was lovingly preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Nora Mae Banning; brothers William (Billy) Banning, Gerald Banning, and Edward Banning; sisters Shirley Ruark (Ralph) and Carole Banning; husband, George Oliver (Pat) Granger, Jr., and husband C.
