After the passing of my aunt, I thought I would post this message on the behalf of the family and friends of Bernette Ann Stanley Brummell. i first want to thank GOD for placing her in our lives as your perfect gift to all of us; i want to thank Michelle for caring for her 24/7 and placing your life on hold; i want to thank Caroline County Hospice for making her last weeks very comforting, and I want to thank all the friends that posted comments on various websites and provided pictures and love for our family. Everything that everyone has done was not under appreciated in the least bit, and it makes me happy to know that she was and is loved as much as she is. Thank you to the Frampton-Hawkins Funeral Home Family for helping with her final arrangements everything was beautiful, fitting and decent for her. to my uncle and the rest of my family, I want you all to know that I love you as much as I love Bernette and always will. May GOD continue to bless us all.##imported-begin##Sierra##imported-end##

To the family:
Please accept my heartfelt condolences. In times like this, the bible gives us comfort from the scriptures in Revelation 21:4 that talks about a time when mourning, sorrow, pain, and death will be no more.John 5:28,29 also talks about a time when loved ones such as Mrs Bernette will be raised up to perfect conditions free from sickness and death.
I do hope these words will strengthen and comfort you.##imported-begin##jessica##imported-end##
Above my desk at home, I have an old photograph of my first two students at Hodgson Vo-Tech when I first came to work as an interpreter for the Sterck School, Delaware School for the Deaf, in 1982. This is a picture of Bernette and her friend, Madeline, in the Horticulture shop. They are happily caring for flats of seedlings which they had planted. Although I am deeply saddened to learn of Bernette's illness and passing, I am so very glad to know that she had a happy life in the company of a beloved husband and a wonderful family and friends.##imported-begin##Lynn Mankin##imported-end##
Bernette Ann *Stanley* Brummell
Daughter, granddaughter, sister, wife and friend.
Bernette was a loving daughter always yearning for more time and communication with family.
She was a Special granddaughter who loved her Grandmother Dearly and missed her excessively, now to be reunited again in heaven.
Bernette cherished her time with her sisters and brother. She was very proud to be your sister.
She loved being a niece to her Aunts and Uncles. Many Special times with Aunt Tanya and Uncle George!
Bernette loved meeting up with cousins and learning as much as she could about her family.
Bernette blessed the Brummell family when she joined their lives over 27 years ago when she fell in love with Fred “Jr”.
She became a much loved and respected part of the family.
Mr. Freddy always treated Bernette like his own daughter and she always felt loved and supported by him.
Bernette had many treasured times with her Brummell brothers and sisters, going on vacations together, family cookouts, church events, laughing and crying together.
She was a very Proud Aunt to all her nieces and nephews, always showing off the latest pictures and bragging on their accomplishments to all her friends.
As a Friend, Bernette was the best friend you could ever be blessed with.
She was ALWAYS there for you whenever you needed her.
She loved you unconditionally and saw the positive in everyone.
Bernette‘s Deaf family was the same to her as blood relatives.
Growing up with her Dorm Mother Jane and all her dorm sisters started her Deaf family ties. So many Great times through the school years and many great friends that have stuck close to her.
After meeting Fred Jr her Deaf family grew by hundreds! So many Great times through the years, all those long summer nights in the backyard chatting and laughing into the early morning. Deaf friends always knew the Brummell house was always welcoming to them at any time and you would walk in and be welcomed with Bernette’s beautiful smile.
Bernette has touched so many lives in her short time on this earth. Her list of close friends is too long to name. There is one friend who stands out as Bernette’s angel in her last months with us. Her Dear friend Michelle Cook who put her life and family on hold to become Bernette’s 24/7 caregiver. Michelle will be forever remembered and blessed for her selfless acts of love and caring she gave to Bernette.
Most importantly, Bernette as a wife to Fred “Jr”.
Bernette loved her husband Fred “Jr” with all her heart.
Her beauty, sweet personality and amazing smile stole Fred’s heart 27 years ago.
They have been deeply in love ever since. Bernette loved that Fred “Jr” always made her feel beautiful in every way. Bernette was his Rock, always taking care of him and making sure he was happy.
Bernette touched so many of us in so many ways. She will always be loved and remembered. She will stay in our hearts forever until we meet her again.##imported-begin##Teresa Grundman##imported-end##
I am sad beyond words that we have lost dear Bernette. Even though she and I haven't been in regular contact these last few years (until recently), we are tied together forever after our time together at Delaware School for the Deaf where she was my "dorm daughter" almost 8 years (1976-83). Her wining smile and laugh, easy humor and ready kindness are things that touched my life forever. I will miss her more than I can say. I wish I could be with everyone at her visitation and service, but unfortunately, the timing will not allow it. My love and condolences to Fred, Thelma, Joe, Angela, Crystal and other family members.
