Billie Garrett Hendon's Obituary
Billie Garrett Hendon passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Mallard Bay Nursing Home in Cambridge, MD. He was 87.
He was born on September 17, 1933, the son of the late Jerry Eber Hendon and Mattie Ruth (Garrett) Hendon.
He graduated from Borger High School in Borger, Texas before going on to North Texas State College/North Texas University. He began his teaching career at Lutcher Stark High School in Orange, TX before moving to Easton, MD in 1960 and teaching at Easton High School and went on to work for the Board of Education as Director of Data Processing. He retired on February 28, 2000.
In his time outside of work he enjoyed sharing the camellias, rhododendrons and flowers from the garden.
He is survived by his wife, Marclyn Stewart Hendon, his son, Mike Hendon, daughter-in-law, Helene C. Hendon, his brother, J.E. Hendon, Jr., sister-in-law, Marcia Hendon, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, James Ray Hendon, sister, Dorothy Lee Patterson, and brother, David Hendon.
Funeral services will be private.
