So sorry to hear of the passing of Miss Carrie. I grew up on the farm next door to her on Payne Road, and remember her and Mr. Franklin very fondly. Before the new house was built, they had all kinds of animals living around their property, especially the peacocks, which used to wander boldly on the road!
Miss Carrie used to prepare chickens for us to eat, when I was a kid. I'll miss seeing her station wagon going by the farm. My father, Tom, believes Carrie and Franklin had lived on Payne Road longer than anyone else, certainly longer than him.
Please accept condolences from the Cheezum family. It's the end of an era. Miss Carrie was a great lady; blessings to her and her family.
