Donald Somers Schmick and Alan (Schmick) Somers, sons of John Schmick, Jr, send our condolences to the Arney Family. Though we have not seen Mr Arney in 55 years, we remember him well and fondly, as part of our childhoods. He was most friendly and patient with us, as we roamed his hardware store, dreaming over (and occasionally buying) fishing tackle from him. Then, he kindly responded to our urgings to put our favorite food (a submarine sandwich) on his menu at the Black Kettle Restaurant. (His patience and kindness towards kids was again surely demonstarted, when we played "Transfusion," by Nervous Norvus, on the juke box for as many times as we had nickels -- and on numerous occasions.
