I've said this over and over. There will never be another Chuck Asmussen. He was such a great guy and my closest and dear friend. He is on my inforgettable list. Sweet memories and golden days. my God take you in his choir. Hope to see you again my friend. Sonny
What I remember most about Chuck is that he gave the best bear hugs whenever we saw each other. He was so thoughtful and always asked about our girls and how they were doing. He was fiercely protective and loyal to his parents, children and family. He was such a kind and generous man, but he was also not afraid to speak his mind...I respected him for that! I enjoyed listening to him sing and play when he would post something on his Facebook page...you could tell he really enjoyed it too. He will be so missed by all those who knew and loved him! ! Mr. Chuck, you will truly be missed at the dialysis center. We the staff at DaVita so enjoyed your humor, your many desserts that you would spoil us with and just with your presence.
I was always happy to take you by your hand and lead you to your chair for treatment. We would laugh all the time when the other patients would stare and say "How come Chuck gets to hold your hand"...with that I would just smile. Your charm, smile and laugh will always be remembered by me and the staff. Though I was blessed with only 2 years since returning to DaVita, it was the best 2 years for knowing such an awesome human such as you.
My condolences to your ohana (family) for the loss of a husband, father, grand father, uncle, and friend.
I know for a fact that the good Lord awaited you with his open arms.

Debbie, Charles and Donna, I am so sorry to hear of Chuck’s passing. He certainly led a full life.

First my sincere condolences are to Sam ,Cris,Cindy,Donna and especially My long time friends who always been a huge part of my life and our family .
Those are Mrs. and Mr. Asmussen who came into my life when I was very young and was best friends with their son “Keith” who also is in heaven rejoicing in our Savior Christ Jesus with his Big brother Chuck.
I can only imagine the smile on both their faces after last seeing each other 47 years ago.
Chuck has always called me his adopted brother and used to take me on motorcycle rides when I was a teenager and sing songs on his banjo.
What a picker he was when it came to the string instruments as many know .
He loved those White mountain old ice cream makers and was a friend that would check in on me at work to see if I needed any PPG paint cause he was a great salesman and manager of the store.
It saddened me when he began losing his eyesight and every Christmas Eve up till the Covid pandemic my entire family spent Christmas Eve down to his parents Mr.and Mrs. Asmussen.
My heart is saddened for I know the Love Mr.and Mrs. Asmussen had for their son Chuck and a bond between Mother and son like no other.
Mrs. Asmussen even told me when I called her this past Sat. And stopped in their house that she lost her best friend .
They complimented each other and he loved his Dad much .
They All loved our three girls and Chuck would ask often how’s those girls doing ?
I loved to hear Chuck tell me about my oldest brother Mike who passed away in 1974 about their B.B. gun fights down on our farm not far from Sunny side farm and how Mike tore them up pretending he got shot in the head but then Mike let lose on them and tore them a new one . Then Mike did get hit in the forehead with either a bb or a nail and came running out then they got returned fire and my brother Mike got his.
Yup back then that’s how boys played and memory’s were made.
I remember many a good story I shared with my adopted brother Chuck and I will miss him until we meet again one glorious day and I’m sure Chuck will still have his ornery smile and like another said he will say “Yeahhhhhhh” but did you have to write that ?
My heart aches as I type this but the Asmussen family will Always ,Forever and No Matter What be a part of me.
