Many years ago early to mid sixties I worked with Charile when he was an LTL driver for Service Trucking and the Teamsters Local 876 (I think) shop steward. I have not seen him since but felt led to send you a note to tell you of my sorrow at his passing. What a shock when we heard the news about Charlie and thinking you would see him sitting on the gator with his sidekick Diesel who has know idea what is going on but only knows his daddy isnt around. I would like to tell him thanks for taking Kim and John along with him for the ride even if it was a short time and they both will miss him everyday waiting for him to enter the barn or watching ride down the lane on his gator for the mail along with his companion. Charlie had his ways like all of us do and taking for granted all will always be there no matter what the day brings but as we now have seen things will always be in God's hands which we must always remember. Mr. Charlie you will most surely be missed by us all on the farm everyday but we know you will be watching us at all times but we will all see you soon. I have learned alot from many including Charlie.But today Charlie taught me another valuable lesson which is about life.Although I have heard the saying"never take life for granted" I always did.I watched Charlie go out our driveway taking for granted that he would be back "in a few".He did not.Not this time.Our family has thanked him quite often for all that he has done for us ,but I wish that I had of taken a minute to stop him as he was going out to thank him again.Here today-gone today is how it works.Charlie was a great man and our family can vouch for that.Charlie,Dad,Pops and Poppy-we will always love you and a day will not go by with out a thought of you in it.Your seat at the barn table will remain as empty as our lives feel without you here but it gives us warmth knowing that you will be watching over us,as always!!!##imported-begin##KimBerly Hicks##imported-end##
