Christy Ann Pierce's Obituary
Christy Ann Pierce of Federalsburg, Maryland passed away peacefully July 26, 2025 in Easton at the Talbot Hospice House. She was 75.
The daughter of the late Alfred E. and Betty L. (nee Smith) Pierce, she was born December 31, 1949 at Haff Hospital in Northampton, Pennsylvania.
After graduating from Easton High School in Easton, PA in 1967, she attended Beaver (now Arcadia) College in Glenside, PA and graduated in 1971 with her degree in education. She subsequently earned a Masters Degree in Education from Kutztown University.
Following her graduation, Chris moved to Federalsburg, MD and began teaching at Federalsburg Elementary School in 1971 and retiring from Caroline County Public Schools after a long and rewarding career in 2005. She loved being a teacher, it was a great source of pride for her and she is fondly remembered by many of her former 6th grade FES students.
Upon arriving in Federalsburg she made it her new home, where she developed many friendships and became involved in her community. She volunteered at local organizations and was a member of the Federalsburg Lions Club for many years. She was a lifetime lover and collector of books of all genres with a special interest in childrens' books.
She is survived by her brothers: Alfred S. Pierce (Linda) and John H. Pierce (Carolyn); her nieces: Dianne Pierce O'Brien (Shawn) and Jaclyn Pierce Marsh (Kyle); her nephew Steven Pierce (Krystin); six great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as family friends John Phillips, Sr., John Phillips, Jr. and Mikie Phillips, Danny and Kim Phillips, and Scott and Emily Phillips. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will take place Friday, August 1, 2025 at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg at 5:00 p.m. Reverend Keith Colona will be officiating.
