We grew up together and attended the same Lutheran Church (Trinity on Port & MCElderry Sts.) Ellsworth and I sang in the choir with his mom serving as Choir Directress. Katerina and Roy saw things happening in my life that weren't pleasant and sort of adopted me. Ellsworth and I shared many firsts: first cigarette, first drink, first car, first double date and first swim across a river. We remained close over the years with Ellsworth coming to our house on Mary Avenue for dinner once a week when he was in Baltimore. As our families grew we started to drift apart and went where life would take us. The last time I spoke with Ellsworth he said he missed our talks as we walked in his beloved Federalsburg. We managed in death, but more importantly we manged in life.
May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hands and may God hold you in the palm of his hands
May God Bless You and Keep You,
Love Always!
