I met Elva approx. 4 years ago through my brother Roger Wright while he was a resident at the Crest House. I am so priveleged to have called her friend. It wasn't until Roger was in a serious car accident nearly 3 years ago that Elva and I really connected. Her unconditional love and sacraficial support impacted our lives forever. She was with us nearly every weekend while he was in the hospital in a coma, during the rehabilitation therapy, and when he finally came home a few months later. I could not have managed without her help! Roger would tell me that Elva was the only true friend he ever had and that meant so much to him to have a friend like her that stuck "closer than a brother" to him. Roger had been through his share of battles throughout his lifetime and Elva always sought to encourage him to rise about his struggles. Ultimately he did just that and in November, Roger was called Home to Heaven where he was reunited with our mother. He now has his very special friend Elva Bowens with him where they worship our most awesome God and Saviour. No more diabetes. No more struggles or pain. Until we meet again, I will miss you my dear friend Elva.##imported-begin##Ann Marie Rose ##imported-end##
