I know many people from my career as a writer. Fifteen years ago, when I told them I was going to be writing for Tidewater Times, all of them, even the most negative and crumudgeonly said "Oh, the Baileys are such nice people. You're lucky." And I was. Hugh and Evelyn supported me every step of the way. Evelyn was warm, gracious and generous. She had a mischievous twinkle in her eye, always. I loved how she and Hugh enjoyed their retirement with their trips and their motorcycles. They lived life to the fullest and raised some wonderful kids, including my dear friend and editor Anne. I'm so fortunate to have known this wonderful woman. I'm sure she's up there looking down on us as she guns up her bike and flies among the clouds.
