Evelyn W Bailey's Obituary
Evelyn W. Bailey of McDaniel, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton. She was 86. Born on April 15, 1933, she was the daughter of Marge and Fritz Wallach.
Evelyn spent 67 amazing years married to the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Hugh Bailey. The two were inseparable and totally devoted to one another. They had a special banter and playful discourse that everyone admired. In a tribute that Hugh wrote on their 66th anniversary, he said: Light of my life, all happiness, all things good stem from my being married to you, Evelyn.
She was always a woman who knew her own mind and what she wanted. Her fire, tenacity and amazing sense of humor were things that her family and friends most admired about her. She was the type of woman who loved with her whole heart and lived her life to the absolute fullest. One of her most special pleasures was teaching each of her grandchildren about different flowers, butterflies and birds.
Evelyn most loved going on adventures with Hugh. After retiring from publishing the Tidewater Times magazine, they spent their time traveling in their motorhome, riding their motorcycle, jeeping through the mountains, camping, reading and just enjoying the great outdoors and everything life had to offer. Nature was her religion.
She is survived by her husband Hugh, daughter Margie Sevigny (Jay), daughter Anne Farwell (John), beloved grandchildren Paul Schutz, Jr., Sarah Capozzi, Benjamin and Mary Farwell, 4 great-grandchildren, numerous adored nieces and nephews, and her brother, who always made her laugh, Buddy Wallach (Mabel).
A private Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date.
