G. Eugene Krantz, Ph.D.
St. Michaels, George Eugene Krantz, Ph.D., of St. Michaels, died at his home with his family at his side on Wednesday, July 10, 2013. He was 78. Born on July 3, 1935 in Frederick, MD., he was the son of the late George C. and Geraldine Smith Krantz. For the majority of his life Dr. Krantz worked as a Fisheries Scientist for both the Federal and State Governments. Dr. Krantz is survived by his wife Lucretia Reese Krantz, two son’s; David Krantz and wife Susan, of Toledo, OH. Brad Krantz of Owings Mills, MD. Six grandchildren; Patrick, Andrew, Ryan, Daniel, Dylan, and Jared. Nieces; Terye Reese Knopp, and Karen Hunter, and husband Gerard. Great Nieces & Nephew; Madison, Mary-Kate, Anna, Ryleigh and John. Also survived by his aunt; Susie Willard, cousins; Ray Morgan and Phil Krantz, a brother-in-law Jan Reese. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother; Randolph Krantz. Friends are invited to call at the Ostrowski Funeral Home, 312 S. Talbot St. St. Michaels on Sunday, July 21, 2013 from 4:00 to 6:00PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to, St. Josephs Indian School 1301 N. Main St. P.O. Box 300 Chamberlain, S.D. 57325, or to the Philips Warf Environmental Center P.O. Box C/21604 Chicken Pt. Rd. Tilghman, MD. 21671.
