Gladys Virginia Nepert's Obituary
Gladys Virginia Messick Nepert of Laurel, DE, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015 at her home. She was 95.
She was born on February 13, 1920 in Beulah, Maryland, the daughter of the late Rache P. Messick and Lillian Virginia Woodward Messick. She was preceded in death by her husband, August George Nepert on July 23, 1977.
She worked as a nurse at Easton Memorial Hospital in the labor and delivery department and retired from nursing in 1985. Gladys was a member of the First Church of God in Federalsburg. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and being a homemaker for her family. She enjoyed playing board games and was a master scrabble player.
She is survived by four children, George Nepert of Seaford, DE, Jane Nepert of Owings Mills, MD, Roger Nepert of San Francisco, CA, Mary Clay of East New Market, MD, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, seven siblings, Clara Mae Evans, Robert Messick, Kenneth Messick, Shirley Abbott, Ann Slacum, all of Cambridge, MD, Nancy Ressler of Hershey, PA, and Janet Messick of Hurlock, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her a son, Jack Nepert, a brother, Donald Messick, and a granddaughter, Tracy Davis.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 12:00 at the First Church of God in Federalsburg with Minister Larry Messick officiating and being assisted by Pastor Peter Smith. A visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Junior Order Cemetery in Preston. Share memories with the family at www.framptom.com.
