When I was a little girl, Gloria used to take me to the fabric store to pick out fabric and patterns, and she would make dresses for me, or furniture for my dolls. I was amazed by that; it was magical. I took up sewing because of Gloria.
When I was older, we would all hang out and sip wine and talk for hours. Those were good times - she had so much warmth and hospitality to all who visited.
A funny thing I remember was from long long ago, when Gloria first moved to Harrison Street. She wanted so badly to make my brother and I our favorite food, which was mashed potatoes. Apparently, mashed potatoes are not normal fare in England, because she made them in the blender. I will never forget the look on Dad's face when she poured them on to his plate. It was hilarious. A few seconds later, everyone burst out in warm laughter that broke all the tension.
Good memories; I have so many. I could go on and on.
Marcelle, James and Jerry, we were saddened to hear of Gloria's passing. We remember her with fondness, especially the fine workmanship she did on the Boat Pools, duffel bags, two formal gowns she did for me and the restoration of my wedding gown for Lauren's wedding (8/18/90). Just Saturday in passing through Preston coming home from the beach, we wondered out loud how Gloria was doing and to think, she died the next day. We send our sincere sympathy to you from two people whose lives she enhanced. May she rest in peace. Jackie and David Dianich, Easton.

James - Very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. May your family find comfort in many happy memories of her life. Prayers to you & your family.
